dc.description.abstract The objective of this report was to develop a set of guideline for the appropriate surface treatment selection; application and maintenance to provide a cost-effective means of reducing the safety and health hazard associated with dust on strip coal mine haul roads. This would be used to identify suitable spray-on or mix-in surface treatments to reduce the generation of dust, within the constraints of cost effectiveness and maintainability, through consideration of wearing course material type, traffic volumes and current road maintenance activities. en
