The water sector in Southern Africa is uncertain and is changing constantly - there is biophysical uncertainty and the annual rainfall anomalies in Southern Africa between 1901 and 2009 make it difficult to plan. This uncertainty is exacerbated by climate projections that suggest that freshwater resources are vulnerable and have the potential to be strongly impacted by climate change with wide-ranging consequences for human societies and ecosystems. This presentation highlights various scenarios for the South African Water Sector in 2025.
