dc.description.abstract |
The aim of this work was to produce V8C7-WC and V4C3-WC powders with grain size between 1 and 2mu-m, as a first stage of the preparation of fine grained WC-VC-Co hardmetal. V8C7-WC powder was produced via two routes: starting from preformed V8C7 and WC, and starting from V2O5, WC and carbon black. The V4C3-WC powder was not produced because all attempts led to the formation of W2C or V8C7. |
