dc.description.abstract South Africa is a developing country and has made its mark as one of the major maritime countries in Africa and the world. For it to compete internationally the ports of South Africa have to maintain an international standard it terms of safety and efficient operations within the ports. Transnet National Ports Authority (TNPA), who owns and manages the infrastructure of all eight commercial ports in South Africa have to ensure these standards are always kept. en_US
