The ribbon microphone lends itself as a good example to use for education of multi-physics computer modeling and simulation. The value of the ribbon microphone as teaching aid can be extended by adding a transformer and electronic amplifier to the model. The complete model can be used to illustrate the importance of impedance matching and noise suppression.
